RHONY star Kelly Bensimon, 58, injured in horror Florida car crash

Reality star Kelly Bensimon is recovering from a head-on accident in Sarasota, Florida, in which she injured her arm and head.

The 58-year-old Golden Life star was a pᴀssenger in an Uber with celeb chef Andrew Molen, 44, that was struck by another vehicle on Tamiami Trail on Monday, according to Page Six.

The former Real Housewives of New York City star was hospitalized in the aftermath of the crash, along with Molen and the driver of the separate vehicle.

‘I’m lucky to have walked away alive,’ Bensimon told the outlet following the dangerous incident, which caused the airbags in the vehicle she was in to deploy, amid impact during a left turn.

Bensimon detailed multiple injuries she suffered as a result of the collision to the outlet, saying that her ‘right arm is a mess’ and her ‘head went straight into the back of the seat.’

The Daily Mail has reached out to Bensimon and the Sarasota Police Department for further comment on her condition.

She continued, ‘It was really bad. I was unconscious for a couple seconds. I was freaking out. I thought I broke my arm.’

Bensimon said that she underwent a CT scan and X-rays while she was treated at a medical facility in the wake of the crash.

She told the outlet that she was not feeling well following the incident.

‘I am totally out of it, I am in so much pain,’ Bensimon said. ‘My head went back and banged [Andrew] on his chin. There were makeup marks on the airbag.’

On Instagram Stories Tuesday, Bensimon wrote, ‘It has been an intense 36 hours @andrewmolen so thankful for you and that we are safe and for all who helped us through this moment.’ 

Molen told the outlet that Bensimon ‘was out cold’ and ‘kept falling back’ in the aftermath of the crash.

Molen, who works as a private chef, said he urged the driver of the vehicle he was in to brake when he saw the other car approaching in a manner he described as ‘straight on.’

He added of the terrifying moments ahead of impact: ‘You didn’t hear brakes screech. He came straight in at full blast.

Molen said that he remains in ‘a lot of pain’ following the incident, and has canceled five work events to focus on his recovery from a neck injury 

‘We got hit so hard. Kelly went flying. I hit the ceiling. Airbags went off. There was dust everywhere … they had to help us into ambulances.’

The driver of the separate vehicle was transported via a stretcher in an ambulance, according to the outlet.

The pair had been in Sarasota for work obligations, as Bensimon, a real estate professional, had been presiding over an open house for a residence on Bay Shore Road.

Molen had catered the event and demonstrated functions of the kitchen at the residence.

They had also been recording the event for a digital lifestyle show they’re working on тιтled The Chef and the Housewife.
